its all part of the unpredictability of RA I'm afraid.......................so it does make planning ahead a bit of a trial! I tend to say yes I would LOVE to do this/go there/drive to etc etc, but always have to qualify it with "as long as I'm not too tired", so people are warned that I MAY not make keep to the plan....................its not ideal, but then neither is RA!!!!
I do hope they get your drugs sorted very soon so you can begin to feel better, take care, love from Lyliex

Hi Valerie, and a late welcome to the forum from me. I'm Sheila and have had RA three years, yes its a pain in more ways than one, but this site is great for help and just knowing that there are others who are going through the same thing.
I take prednisolone, mtx, and had a rituximab infusion, after like you, an awful winter of not being able to move. I got bored stiff with the TV and kept falling asleep reading, but found that propped up by pillows etc and keyboard on my lap I could use the computer so got stuck into tracing family history, it kept me sane when I couldn't get out of the house.

Hoping things get better for you soon.
Best wishes
Sheila

Hi Valerie *wave*

Welcome to the forum BigGrin

I'm Helly, 35yrs old and was born with juvenile idopathic arthritis (diagnosed when 2).... It went into remission when I was 13 and then reared its ugly head again last September. Luckily I got back on DMARDs pretty quick and it looks like its heading back into remission

Can certainly help you with the rest thing... had a revision hip replacement last year that had me non-weight bearing for 3 months... Daytime TV definitely leaves you climbing the walls sometimes.

I found card making and painting very therapeutic. Its fab if you have a fairly artistic streak in you but if not, you'll soon discover it ThumpUp

Writing also kept me sane as I could use the writing to get my feelings onto paper, but I also started writing fiction. Since then I've started a blog that gives everyone an insight into me.

Books, ones you promised you'd get round to reading but never did.

Pamper days... Resting can drive you up the wall because you feel so helpless but you just need to remind yourself why you're doing it. Plan a day where you enjoy a soak in the bath, or maybe a visit to the hairdressers.... Resting doesn't mean you need to stare at 4 walls all day and providing you plan ahead, you can enjoy your day as well as rest.

Friends are definitely the umbrellas for rainy days and if you can invite friends round for a cuppa then bonus. Companionship is the one thing we need when we're feeling a bit out of sorts.. Laughter is the best medicine so share some with friends...

It can sometimes be hard to accept help from friends but I say go for it and then once you're better you can thank them with a home cooked meal, or even one of the cards you've made..

Welcome again and look forward to seeing more of your posts

Helly
